I Looked Upon Your Face Tonight

By Joe Grasso

I looked upon your face tonight

A smaller image encased in glass

I remember how you breathed

You swore you loved me; forever we last

A smaller image encased in glass

Upon a mantle unnoticed in file

You swore you loved me; forever we last

An eternity spent within a mile

Upon a mantle unnoticed in file

So bittersweet your heroic fight

An eternity spent within a mile

Coming dawn brings warmth and light

So bittersweet your heroic fight

Lonesome beckons through darkest of night

Coming dawn brings warmth and light

I looked upon your face tonight
